Bhubaneswar, 19 December: The 4th Odisha Symposium, organised by Invest Bhubaneswar is all set to take off from 20th December this year. A press conference to raise the curtain of the event was organised at Hotel Crown recently.
“The 3 day long symposium will be inaugurated at 7:00 pm on 20th this month. There will be two technical sessions related to Agriculture and Electronic Semiconductor Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) followed by a cultural programme on the second day. The third day consists of plenary sessions based on Incubation, Startups, and Innovation, which aims to target students from various colleges. The valedictory Ceremony will follow right after the session.” said the organising committee in the conference.
It is a platform that facilitates business to business (B2B) interaction for promotion of enterprise in the state. It will bring together business leaders from the state, country and abroad to explore investment opportunities in the state. More than 200 entrepreneurs including 40 from countries like USA, UK, Australia and Singapore are expected to attend the seminar which will also witness the participation of policy makers, opinion leaders, think tanks, entrepreneurs and investors to interact with each other and find out possibilities of investment in the state.
“This symposium works towards promoting entrepreneurship in the state and branding Odisha as a stable and dependable investment destination” said Mr. Ayaskanta Mohanty the organising member.
“We are targeting every district of the state this year” said Mr. Debasish Pattnaik, member, Organising Committee explaining the tagline “Connecting Odisha. “The efforts will reap its results by 2015” he further added.
Two focus sectors of this year’s event are Agro & Food Processing and Electronic Semiconductor Design & Manufacturing (ESDM). “Since the electronic market is not that advanced in the country, this platform aims to take early bird advantage in ESDM sector and brand Odisha as pioneer in the country. This will result in saving the money spent in electronic import from other countries considering the huge difference in the dollar-rupee value.”, said Sahadev Sahu, Organising member.
The major attractions of this year’s event are motivational speakers Akash Gautam and Dr. Arindam Dutta. “The speakers will inspire upcoming entrepreneurs and support them morally through their inspiring words”, said the organising committee.
This event in the past was organised at Palo Alto in 2010, Dallas in 2011, Chicago in 2013 and Singapore in 2012.
The first “Invest Bhubaneswar” event was organized on July 1, 2010 at Palo Alto, CA, USA to connect with Silicon Valley, CA, USA – the innovation capital of the world. A 40-member team from Government of Orissa and private, the largest ever delegation in the history of the state, presented the state to local businesses and investors with an invitation to visit the state in December. Subsequently Invest Bhubaneswar symposium, a follow-up event took place in Bhubaneswar during 18-20th December 2010. In these event eminent speakers, investors, entrepreneurs all around the globe participated and experienced the potential of city and the state.
The Delegates formed the leadership team of Invest Bhubaneswar and took up the cause to promote, facilitate and collaborate with business houses, investors to make Bhubaneswar, the most preferred Investment destination.
