The classical overnight is a unique experience in its conception. Similar in nature to the spiritual observance of ‘jagara’ by devotees who stay up all night to worship their deity, music lovers stay up all night to experience the bliss of its pure classical form which has the power to give the connoisseur a spiritually uplifting experience.

The series of concerts generally consist of alternate vocal and instrumental performances ending with a Dhrupad recital at the ‘Brahm Muhurt’ as the dawn breaks. It is said that those who are able to immerse themselves in the musical experience have the chance to experience something uniquely mystical. By exposing the young minds to such a possibility, SPIC MACAY draws their attention from the frivolous outer world dominated by ‘2-minute noodles’ and 30 second advertisements to an exquisite gift of our living heritage that teaches us patience and focus inherent in what is fittingly known as ‘Naad Yog’. We hope the experience will be transformation for many at various levels.

Students and teachers from all chapters of SPICMACAY in and around Bhubaneswar shall also be attending the overnight concert. The event is hoped to strengthen the volunteer movement which shall also involve government schools and colleges, thanks to the support of the Government of Odisha, Odisha Mining Corporation, Department of Culture and Tourism. Nalco, Boyonika and Team Admark are among other supporters of the event. Sambad and Indian Express are the print partners and Odisha Live is the Digital Media partner for the event.
