Bhubaneswar, 23rd September 2016 (OdishaLIVE Bureau): After massive success of Odisha Vikash conclave similar programs1 right up to District and region level in the state is being planned said Jagadananda the man behind the conclave.

Jagadananda has said that actual problems, concerns, hardships on the ground cannot be understood without the involvement of people in the grassroots.

He said the series of  Vikash Conclaves are being planned to bring to focus the success and failures of several Government plans and programs. The challenges in making the expected beneficiaries to get complete advantage of the schemes would be discussed threadbare in these programs, he said. The people themselves would put forth their issues and concerns so that real problems could get a forum to be addressed, he said.

Jagadananda said since last few years economic growth rate has been on rise and size of annual budgets have also gone up substantially. New plans and programs have been implemented. This has also resulted in stiff rise in corruption. Making the benefits of development reach the man in the bottom has become a big challenge.

In this context larger peoples participation can ensure accountability. For this the series of conclaves will work to aware people on their rights and responsibilities, he said.

It may be noted that Odisha Vikash conclave was organized in Bhubaneswar. Apart from Niti Ayog Vice Chairman Dr Aravind Panagariya, Central and State Ministers several eminent persons from bureaucracy, social work and experts joined the conclave. Discussions were held in 11 different vital aspects of development in the conclave. Recommendations in each of the field has been prepared and submitted to Governments.

Jagadananda has thanked social workers from nook and corner and specially from remote places of the state for their participation in the conclave.
