MIT_8952Bhubaneswar, 22nd May, 2016: IQEMS in association with Rotary Club Bhubaneswar Heritage is organized a Seminar on “Corporate Social Responsibility Initiatives” at Bhubaneswar. The Seminar was inaugurated by Shri Subas Pani,IAS (R), Former Chief Secretary, Govt. of Odisha and Secretary, Rural Development and Planning Commission, Govt. of India. The theme of the seminar was “Value Driven Social Change”. Lt. Gen. (Retd.) PVSM. J S Ahluwalia, President, Institute of Directors delivered the Keynote address. Dr. A. C Padhiary, IAS (R), Former Secretary, Govt. of Odisha also addressed the audience on different aspects of CSR.

“CSR Excellence Award” for the year 2015 have been bagged by National Aluminium Company Limited, Bhubaneswar, Jindal Steel And Power Limited, Angul; Mid East Integrated Steel Ltd., Jajpur and Apollo Hospital, Bhubaneswar in Gold Category and  Aditya Aluminium Limited, Lapanga; Vedenta Aluminium Limited, Lanjigarh, Balasore Alloys Limited in Silver Category.  These Awards have been instituted by Institute of Quality and Environment Management Services (IQEMS) to recognize and encourage companies for their CSR Initiatives and best practices in line with the recent amendment the Company Act has undergone.

Shri Debabrata Panigrahi, Convenor of the Seminar and Managing Director, IQEMS gave the Welcome address. Dr. R C Panda, IAS (R), former Secretary, Govt. of India, Ministry of Heavy Industry and Public Enterprise and Chairman of Organizing Committee presided over the function. A Souvenir was released by Chief Guest to mark the occasion.

Eleven papers ware presented by experts drawn from Industries, academia and media in the Technical Session. Among others Prof. R. K. Mishra, Director, Institute of Public Enterprise, Hyderabad; Shri N M Prusty, Mentor cum Director, Center for Disaster Management Support Services, New Delhi; Shri Pratap Aditya Mishra; Advisor, Corporate Communication and CSR, NALCO presented papers. Pannel discussion on the theme of Seminar was organized in which experts deliberated on issues connected with CSR.

Shri Ashok Kumar Tripathy, IAS , Member Board of Revenue and Chief Administrator KBK region, Govt. of Odisha was Chief Guest in the Valedictory Session and gave awards to the winners.
