Bhubaneswar, 25th August 2016 (OdishaLIVE Bureau): Over 40 companies have expressed interest to invest in Odisha. This has been the outcome of ‘Invest Odisha’ program at Bengaluru city on Thursday, led by Mr. Debi Prasad Mishra, Minister for Industries and Mass Education, Govt. of Odisha. The two-day investors’ meet is organized at Taj West End.
In a manner to encourage investment into sectors like Manufacturing, IT, Electronics, Petrochemicals, Food Processing, and Tourism, the Odisha government is trying to invite potential investors from different parts of the globe. During the meeting at Bangalore along with the Industries minister, the IT Minister Mr. Pranab Prakash Das interacted with the heads of different companies who showed up at the occasion. The govt. highlighted ‘ease of doing business’ and other attractive features as a part of the offering to the investors.
The ministers meeting with potential investors was a prelude to the occasion where Mr. Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister, Odisha is going to be present. The CM’s meeting on Friday will probably bring some visible outcome on the investors’ interest.
“We are meeting with some business leaders and exploring the possibility of inviting a large chunk of investment to the state,” said Mr. Debi Prasad Mishra to OdishaLIVE. “On August 26, CM Shri Naveen Patanik will meet the captains of the industry. We have also invited around 300 to 500 interested investors in related sectors with whom we will also have a one-on-one discussions,” he added.
Senior govt. officials and business leaders like Mr. Subroto Bagchi was present at the occasion.
