Bhubaneswar, 29th Mar 2017 (OdishaLIVE Bureau): Good news for persons interested in trying a hand at radio jockeying. The city will be witness to the first RJ training camp in Bhubaneswar starting May. The 15 day summer camp is being organised by The Outreach. The training would focus on live show presentation, diction, pronunciation and modulation, radio script writing, radio news reporting, editing and reading, outstation broadcast, listener’s interaction, dubbing & voice acting and public service broadcasting.
The participants would get an opportunity to visit various radio stations and work with professional studios on practical assignments. Importance will be given to body language and personality development throughout the workshop. “So far there is no training programme on RJing in the state so this workshop will help those aiming for a career in the field know more about the profession” says Subrat Kumar Pati who organises such radio fairs.
“A team of experts and RJs, including National Academy of Broadcasting and Multimedia Director (P) Deepak Samantray, IIMC Dhenkanal Head Mrinal Chatterjee, OdishaLIVE Founder Editor and CEO Nilambar Rath, BBC Correspondent Sandeep Sahu, acclaimed dubbing artist Rakhee Das, retired senior announcer Basant Mohanty, Radio Chocolate Programming Head Sangram Mishra, Big FM Bhubaneswar Programming Head Srija Shahin Siddharth and Red FM Bhubaneswar Programming Head Priyadarshi Mohanty will train the participants,” said Pati.
With 50 seats available for the programme, participants will appear a test and be provided with a certificate on completion of the workshop. People from across disciplines with a minimum qualification of Plus-II can join the programme by paying a fee of Rs. 2,000.
