Bhubaneswar, 10th June, 2016: ‘Budhia Singh – Born to Run’ the much anticipated biopic on marathon sensation Budhia Singh, is about to hit theaters soon. Earlier named as ‘Duronto’, the movie’s name was changed right before the announcement of its releasing date.
Produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Code Red Film Productions, the casting consists of Manoj Bajpai, Tillotama Shome and Master Mayur.
Soumendra Padhi is the director of the film and it received the national award this year for the best movie in children’s category. It is based on Budhia Singh, a four years old kid who had set a Limca record by covering 65 kilometres in seven hours and two minutes in 2006.
Shri Padhi informed, “Even if there is some more editing work still left to complete, the next two months will be enough to finish the work.” When asked about the motive for changing the name of the movie from ‘Duronto’ to the protagonist’s name he said, “It was a suggestion from the marketing head. The name of the movie will give a clear picture to the people and the name will remain in the audience mind around the globe.
“People are now familiar with the name Duronto after the film received the national award. So we had this feeling that they might confuse the new name for another movie. But we are going to promote the movie with its new name through a big advertisement campaign. The trailer of the movie will be released in the first or last week of July along with posters and other marketing drives,” he said.
Soumendra hopes his film will receive a good response from the audience. “Receiving the national award was the best thing but the most important thing is the response of the audience. We hope the experience will be good throughout and that the national award tag will help the movie.”
