Shree Jagannath Temple Administration, Puri, organised a 3-day long national artists camp ahead of world famous car festival. 

The title of the camp was ‘Neelakandara’ (the other name of Lord Jagannath’s Abode). It was co-organised by Odisha Lalit Kala Akademi and Odisha Tourism and supported by National Aluminum Company (NALCO).

The camp involved over 37 veteran and young painters from Odisha and outside with some inputs from overseas artists. Renowned painters like Jatin Das, Baladev Maharatha, Ramahari Jena participated in the camp.

DSC_4312Dr. Dinanath Pathi, who is currently on overseas tour had sent his painting for participation. Similarly, veteran painter Prafulla Mohanti sent his work from London.

The national artists camp aims at delivering series of creative expressions on the Lord through the eyes of young and eminent artists. The Administration plans to organize this every year and invite artists from the state and outside.

Culture; Mr. Maheswar Mohanty, MLA, Puri;  Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Chief Administrator, Shree Jagannath Temple Administration and Secretary, Dept. of Tourism and Culture; Mr. DSC_4345Ansuman Das, CMD, NALCO; Mr. Narendra Swain, Chairman, Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC); Mr. Manoranjan Patnaik, Director Tourism and MD, OTDC; Mr. Sushil Das, Director, Culture; Mr. Shiba Panigrahi, President, Odisha Lalit Kala Akademi graced the event.

All artists participating in the camp were felicitated during the occasion.
