Bhubaneswar, 25th August 2016 (OdishaLIVE Bureau): IT City Bengaluru is going to witness a gala celebration of birth centenary of legendary Biju Patnaik. Govt. Of Odisha, in collaboration with local Odia associations, has made mega arrangements at Palace Ground Auditorium, where Mr. Naveen Patnaik, CM, Odisha, will grace the event on 26th August evening. Many dignitaries from Karnataka govt will also join the celebration.
At least four ministers namely, Mr. Debi Prasad Mishra, Mr. Atanu Sabhyasachi Nayak, Mr. Ashok Chandra Panda, and Mr. Pranab Prakash Das have camped in the city to plan and supervise every aspect and interacting with the heads of local Odia organizations on how to make the event grand and successful. The organizers are expecting over five thousands crowd including majority Odias, at the event.
Odisha is celebrating the 80th foundation of the state, this year. The Bangalore event also includes this as a apart of celebrations over there. The Chief Minister is expected to make some announcements for the welfare of Odias staying outside of the state, learnt from a high level source in the government.
The organizers have arranged a blood donation camp at the venue in the afternoon. Similarly after the formal meeting chaired by the CM, in the evening, a grand cultural program has been planned. The audience will get a taste of music and dance performances of typical Odishan style. Some cinestars are also expected to show up at the event.
To commemorate a Birth centenary of legendary Biju Patnaik, a brief documentary film, titled ‘Satabdi Purusha’, will be previewed at the event. This eleven minutes film portrays the life and times of Biju Patnaik with a focus on his heroic acts in the pre and post independent India. The film is conceptualized and directed by Mr. Nilambar Rath, veteran journalist and founder, editor of OdishaLIVE.
‘Jhada’ (The Storm), is a musical tribute to the legend, which will be presented at the occasion. This over six minutes music has been given audio-visual shape with creative animation inputs. The song is written by Mr. Devdas Chhotray, music rendered by Mr. Om Prakash Mohanty and it is sung by Mrs. Susmita Das. When the video design is handled by Mr. Nilambar Rath, the animation is done by young animator Mr. Biswajit Swain. The audience will witness the magic sand animation of Padmashree Sudarsan Patnaik and sketches of Mr. Kalee Patnaik and Mr. Rabi Narayan Rath.
A souvenir postcard carrying twelve rare photographs of Biju Patnaik will be released by the Chief Minister at the event.
The Bengaluru event is going to be the first ever mega event by the govt as a part of Biju Patnaik centenary celebrations. The govt. has planned to organize similar programs at other major cities like Mumbai, Kolkata, and Delhi etc. to connect Biju Babu with the Odia folks residing outside the motherland.
