Balasore, 28th June, 2016 (OdishaLIVE Bureau): India is likely to conduct trail of a new missile from the Chandipur defense base, Integrated Test Range (ITR). For the purpose, as a precautionary measure, the defense would evacuate the villagers surrounding one to 2.5km radius, around the launch complex-III.
For the trail, the shifting would be made on today till Thursday, if required. The evacuees would be lodged in the earmarked temporary shelters from 6am till 6pm. They would be financially compensated as per prevailing guidelines.
The villages that will be affected are Khadu Pahi, Kusumuli Pahi, Tundura Pahi, Chachina Pahi, Jaydevkasaba Pahi, Bhimura Pahi and Sahada Nagar Pahi.
Total 2880 people along with their cattle and livestock would be shifted. They would be provided shelter in three different places in Khadu, near Kali Mandir and Khadupahi UP School.
According to sources, most likely, medium range Barak, an Indo-Israel, joint venture missile likely to be test fired within these two days.
