Bhubaneswar, 23rd June, 2016 (OdishaLIVE Bureau): “To acknowledge and promote Odisha, on national and international platform, the State has ample amount of subject and possibility. The prime attractions of Brand Odisha are its culture & traditions, lifestyle and food interests along with its tourism resources. Quality packaging and continuous promotion are the initiations to be taken in order to make the State an attractive brand,” said India’s legendary Ad guru, Prahlad Kakar. Shri Kakar enlightened the audience at the annual event ‘Brands of Odisha’ organized by web channel OdishaLIVE.
In his influential talk on the theme, ‘Making Odisha a Global Brand’ Shri Kakar said, “Unlike many of the other States of the Country, Odisha has many unique sectors to help the State in Branding itself. But the saddest part is due to inappropriate presentation and inapt campaign, Odisha is not getting the proper distinction and acclaim that it should obtain. There has to be a map keeping in mind the crucial ingredients like the development in tourism, change in mindset according to changing times and the involvement of youth to achieve it.” He further reverted that if a small state like Goa which mainly has the ‘Sea’ as its main attraction can be one of the best tourist attractions in India, what does Odisha lack in?
On the occasion, the Founder and Editor of OdishaLIVE, Shri Nilambar Rath, in his welcome speech said, “Odisha is certainly an international Brand. There is no doubt about it. However, it is also true that in the area of presentation, we deficit in perception and planning. The Government, media and every citizen of the State plays a major role in it.”
During the event, thirteen of the top brands and organizations of the State were felicitated with the ‘Brands of Odisha’ Award. The Awardees are: Nalco, Ruchi Spices, Gopalpur Port, Sum Hospital, Boyanika, Mayfair Lagoon, Sanket Communication, Jyote Motors, Khimji Jewellers, Madhukunj Agarbati, Baidyabooti, Smart City Bhubaneswar, Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS). “These home grown brands have established themselves regionally, nationally and internationally for which they have been acknowledged today,” informed Pranati Parida, Managing Director of OdishaLIVE.
