Shree Jagannath Temple Administration, Puri, organised a 3-day long national artists’ camp ahead of world famous car festival. 
‘Neelakandara’ – a national artists camp on Lord Jagannath, organized at Puri, by Shree Jagannath Temple Administration, Puri (Odisha), in collaboration with Odisha Tourism, Odisha Lalit Kala Academy and National Aluminium Company (NALCO).

The camp involved over 37 painters from Odisha and outside with inputs from some overseas artists. It showcased the paintings of artists of international repute like Jatin Das, Prafulla Mohanti and Dinanath Pathi. Both veteran and new generation painters took part in this creative camp, which was organized a few weeks before the world famous car festival – Ratha Yatra – of Lord Jagannath.

The camp was suitably titled as ‘Neelakandara’ (the other name of Lord Jagannath’s abode).

The national artists camp aims at delivering number of creative expressions of the Lord through the eyes of young and eminent artists of the land. The Administration plans to organize this every year and invite artists from the state and outside, said Dr. Arabinda Padhee, Chief Temple Administrator and Secretary and Dept. of Tourism and Culture, Govt. of Odisha.

Among others Mr. Ashok Chandra Panda, Minister, Tourism and Culture; Mr. Maheswar Mohanty, MLA, Puri;  Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Chief Administrator, Shree Jagannath Temple Administration and Secretary, Dept. of Tourism and Culture; Mr. Ansuman Das, CMD, NALCO; Mr. Narendra Swain, Chairman, Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC); Mr. Manoranjan Patnaik, Director Tourism and MD, OTDC; Mr. Sushil Das, Director, Culture; Mr. Shiba Panigrahi, President, Odisha Lalit Kala Akademi graced the event.

All artists participating in the camp were felicitated during the occasion.
